The United States reaffirms its support amid the rise of armed groups and the ongoing security crisis.
U.S. defense officials from the American Embassy in Haiti met with Haiti’s Minister of Defense, Mario Andresol, as part of discussions focused on the country’s security challenges.
During the meeting, talks centered on strengthening cooperation between Haiti and the United States in security matters, in a context marked by the expansion of armed groups. Both parties highlighted the need to combat these groups—described as terrorist organizations—accused of fueling a persistent crisis and heavily impacting the population.
The U.S. Embassy also reiterated the strategic importance of Haiti’s stability, emphasizing Washington’s commitment to supporting Haitian authorities in addressing current security threats.
