On Thursday, a test flight by IBC Airways, originating from Miami, successfully landed at Antoine-Simon Airport in Les Cayes, marking a significant step toward establishing regular international flights in southern Haiti.
The aircraft, an Embraer EMB-145 registered as N241-BC, conducted this test flight to assess the operational and logistical feasibility of a regular air route between Miami and Les Cayes.
This is not the first time IBC Airways has engaged with the Haitian market. On August 5, 2020, the airline had already operated an inaugural flight to Cap-Haïtien International Airport in northern Haiti.
This new test flight suggests the potential for enhanced air connectivity in Haiti, particularly for the underserved southern region.
