Former NBA star Lamar Odom continues to navigate a challenging post-basketball life marked by ups and downs. At 45, the founder of Odom Wellness is now facing legal trouble after being evicted from his Los Angeles villa for failing to pay three months’ worth of rent, totaling $45,000.

Court documents recently revealed that a California judge ordered Odom to vacate the Studio City property, previously home to the late rapper Mac Miller. According to the New York Post, Odom entered into a verbal agreement in December 2024 with Executive Recovery Group, Inc., to rent the villa for $15,000 per month. However, after several months of missed payments and unfulfilled promises, the court ruled in favor of eviction.

This incident is another chapter in a long list of post-NBA struggles for Odom. Since leaving professional basketball, he has faced numerous personal battles, including drug addiction, a coma, and a severe medical history involving 12 strokes and six heart attacks.

While Odom appeared to be turning his life around with his addiction recovery centers, this eviction underscores how fragile that stability remains. It serves as a stark reminder that life after the NBA isn’t played on the court—it’s fought in the far more unforgiving arena of real life.

Born on November 6, 1979, in New York, Lamar Odom rose to fame as a versatile and skilled forward, most notably with the Los Angeles Lakers. He helped lead the team to two NBA championships in 2009 and 2010, earning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2011. On the international stage, he secured a bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and a gold medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championship with Team USA.
