Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé returned to Port-au-Prince on Friday, April 24, 2026, following a five-day official visit to the United States, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes of his mission.
Between Washington and New York, he held nearly twenty meetings with U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and representatives of international organizations.
Discussions focused on restoring security, returning to constitutional order, and advancing sustainable economic recovery. The Prime Minister highlighted talks with the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Inter-American Development Bank, centered on investment and job creation.
He also emphasized strategic projects such as solar energy development and a fiber optic network aimed at connecting coastal cities across the country.
On security and electoral matters, Fils-Aimé reiterated the urgency of fully deploying the Gang Repression Force (FRG) and urged international partners to honor their commitments. “Haiti does not need promises, but action,” he stressed.
