10,000 food kits distributed to vulnerable families in northern Haiti

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST), through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), began distributing 10,000 food kits to vulnerable populations in northern Haiti on Sunday, April 26, 2026. In Sainte-Philomène, 500 families have already benefited from this government support amid difficult living conditions. Minister Marc-Elie Nelson, accompanied by representatives from FAES and the Social Assistance Fund, supervised the operation. Around twenty areas in the North and Northeast departments will be covered. The initiative will continue in the southern region through the PSARA – Klere Chimen program, supported by the World Bank.
