Başkent Ampute FC made history by winning the first edition of the EAFF Europa League for amputee football in Ankara. The Turkish club defeated Poland’s Śląsk Wrocław (2-1), securing the first continental title of this new club competition.
This victory marks a significant milestone in the development of amputee football in Europe. Organized by the European Amputee Football Federation, the EAFF Europa League was launched in 2026 to expand club-level competition and complement existing tournaments such as the European Championship and the EAFF Nations League. It reflects the ongoing professionalization of a rapidly growing sport.
In this context, Başkent Ampute FC’s triumph carries special significance. The club reinforces Turkey’s growing dominance in amputee football, already evident at the national team level. Beyond the collective achievement, the Haitian contribution stands out.
Haitian international Saviola Charles played a decisive role in the campaign, scoring four goals during the competition. His offensive efficiency highlights his importance within the champion team.
Contacted by Le Nouvelliste, the player remained reserved, stating that he will grant an exclusive interview “at the appropriate time.” For now, he says he is fully focused on his commitments with his Turkish club.
This European title represents not only a major achievement for Başkent Ampute FC but also a showcase for Haitian football. Through this performance, Saviola Charles emerges as a leading figure of Haitian amputee football on the European stage, in a sport that continues to gain visibility and recognition.
