The government published in the official gazette Le Moniteur the decree fixing the minimum wages in effect as of that date. For eight hours of work, the wage is set at 1,000 gourdes in Segment A, 900 gourdes in Segment B, 760 gourdes in Segment C, and 500 gourdes in Segment E. The production wage is set at one thousand three hundred (1,300.00) gourdes, while the baseline minimum wage of reference is set at nine hundred twenty-five (925.00) gourdes. The decree also outlines the considerations used to establish the minimum wages.

“Considering that every employee of a public or private institution is entitled to a fair wage; Considering that, in fixing the minimum wage, the State has a duty to take into account sectoral realities and dynamics; Considering that, according to the provisions of the Labor Code, the minimum wage must be periodically adjusted based on variations in the cost of living; Upon the report of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, following the recommendations of the Superior Council of Wages (CSS); And after deliberation;

“As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at one thousand (1,000.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for companies belonging to Segment A, indicated below: Private electricity production; Financial institutions (Banks, Transfer houses, Insurance companies); Telecommunications; Import-export trade; Supermarkets; Jewelry stores and Art galleries; Furniture, office furniture, and home appliance stores; IT equipment stores; Car rental companies; Air transport companies; Courier, parcel, and cargo transport companies; Gambling enterprises (Borlette operators, Lottery, Casinos); Car dealerships; Communication, Advertising agencies, and Print, spoken, televised, and electronic press, except Community press; Private schools; Private universities; Private health institutions, Doctors’ offices, Polyclinics; Funeral homes; Maritime and airport agencies; Liberal professionals’ and Consultants’ offices; Travel agencies; Hotels with 4 Hibiscus or more; Real estate agencies,” the decree states.

According to the decree, “As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at nine hundred (900.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for companies belonging to Segment B, indicated below: Building and Public Works (BTP); Land transport companies; Hotels with 3 Hibiscus or fewer; Printing, Photocopying, Computer graphics, Lithography, and IT services; Hair and massage salons; Clothes cleaning businesses (Laundry and Dry cleaning); Extractive industries (Mines and Quarries); Maritime transport companies; Manufacturing industries geared toward the local market, Soft drink, juice, and treated water bottling industries, and Breweries.”

“As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at seven hundred sixty (760.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for companies belonging to Segment C, indicated below: Restaurants; Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Fishing; Agricultural product processing industries; Retail trade, except Supermarkets, Jewelry stores, Cosmetics and clothing stores; Craft shops and Leather goods; Community press; Other non-market services: Non-profit organizations, such as national and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Foundations, Associations, Production cooperatives, and non-financial service cooperatives.”

“As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at five hundred (500.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for personnel belonging to Segment E, indicated below: Domestic service personnel (House staff).”

“As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at one thousand (1,000.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for establishments belonging to Segment F, indicated below: Assembly industries geared toward export; Other manufacturing industries geared toward export.”

“The production wage is set at one thousand three hundred (1,300.00) gourdes. As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at nine hundred twenty-five (925.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for companies belonging to Segment G, indicated below: Private security agencies; Petroleum product distribution companies.”

“As of May 6, 2026, the reference minimum wage is set at nine hundred (900.00) gourdes per eight (8) hour workday for companies belonging to Segment H, indicated below: Private professional schools; Private health institutions employing more than ten (10) people and offering hospitalization services,” according to the decree fixing the minimum wages.

“This Decree repeals all Decrees or provisions of Decrees contrary to it and shall be published and executed under the diligence of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor,” the document concludes.
