The FIFA World Cup is never just about football; ahead of the 2026 tournament, the historic qualification of the Grenadiers is actively inspiring Haitian contemporary artists. Young singer Halfdan has teamed up with the prominent artist BIC Tizon Dife to release “Ayiti… Dan!”, a vibrant musical composition fueled by the collective euphoria of Haiti’s return to the world’s biggest football stage, 52 years after its first participation in 1974.
The spontaneous scenes of public celebration that followed Haiti’s official qualification on November 18, 2025, served as the primary inspiration for Halfdan to create a track that captures the joy of an entire nation. Musically, “Ayiti… Dan!” is a powerhouse of energy that blends distinct influences—including rara tech, afrobeat, and rap—driven by heavy, traditional percussion.
At a time when AI-generated tracks are increasingly common in the market, the artists deliberately chose to offer an organic musical experience. BIC explained that they prioritized local authenticity, building the song around real instruments and rich vocal harmonies. The accompanying music video was carefully crafted to highlight cultural symbols of unity and national pride. Beyond the sporting event itself, the track carries an intentional message for Haitian youth, aiming to reshape how the country is viewed internationally while encouraging a deeper appreciation for national heritage.
