With just over two weeks to go before the kickoff of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, soccer’s governing body has officially released the complete list of team base camps for the 48 qualified nations. Among them, the Haitian national team is set to be stationed in the United States, selecting the New York-New Jersey area as their primary anchor. The Grenadiers will conduct their tournament preparations at Stockton University’s training facilities—a strategic choice that places the squad right in the heart of a region with a massive Haitian diaspora, ensuring substantial crowd support for the team.
Haiti will share the metropolitan area with several heavyweights of international football. Morocco will be based at The Pingry School, Senegal at Rutgers University, and Brazil will also move into the New York-New Jersey sector at the Columbia Park Training Facility, transforming the region into a bustling soccer hub during the tournament. According to FIFA’s log, 39 international squads have opted for training bases in the United States, compared to seven in Mexico and only two in Canada (housing just the host nation and Panama).
Through these base camps, FIFA aims to extend the socioeconomic impact of the historic tournament well beyond the official host cities. A total of 25 non-hosting localities will welcome national selections, bringing the tournament atmosphere to cities like Chattanooga (housing Spain), Boston (France), Winston-Salem (Germany), and Palm Beach Gardens (Portugal). Heimo Schirgi, FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer for the tournament, emphasized that these base camps are deeply woven into the very fabric of the World Cup, allowing the historic multi-host edition to involve even more local communities across North America.
