The Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC), Engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, received a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
According to an official ministry press release, the discussions focused on the implementation of an upcoming campaign designed to clean up and improve environmental hygiene for the residents of Cité Soleil. The joint public health initiative targets the dredging of drainage canals and the removal of solid waste blockages accumulated across several residential neighborhoods within the prominent metropolitan commune.
