French national football team captain Kylian Mbappé cemented his status as an all-time legend by becoming France’s top scorer in major international tournaments (FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship). The forward reached the historic milestone after netting a brace against Senegal during the 2026 World Cup group stage.
With these two goals, Mbappé increased his major tournament tally to 15 goals—comprising 14 FIFA World Cup goals and one UEFA Euro goal. This performance allows the French superstar to surpass former record-holder Michel Platini, who scored 14 major tournament goals, as well as the legendary Just Fontaine, who sits in third place with 13 goals.
