Tensions within Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) have reached a boiling point, as reported by Hebdo24. The Council is fractured into rival factions, paralyzing its operations. Smith Augustin, breaking his silence, has directly accused Fritz Alphonse Jean of manipulating Haitian diplomacy for partisan gain.
Augustin, representing RED/EDE/Compromis historique within the CPT, claims that Jean, representing the August 30 Accord, has secured 14 ambassadorial appointments across Haiti’s 26 embassies and permanent missions. According to Augustin, Jean has locked in the most strategic posts, including Washington, Santo Domingo, Brussels, the UN, the OAS, and UNESCO.
