Haiti is currently participating in the 158th session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board, taking place in Geneva from February 2 to 7, 2026. The announcement was made via a statement posted by the Permanent Mission of Haiti in Geneva on the social media platform X.

The Haitian delegation is led by the Minister of Public Health and Population, Bertrand Sinal, alongside Her Excellency Mrs. Ann-Kathryne Lassègue, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Haiti to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva. Senior officials from the Ministry of Health and experts from the Mission round out the delegation.

As a member of the Executive Board, Haiti is actively engaged in discussions and deliberations focusing on major global health priorities. Key topics include universal health coverage, strengthening primary health care, combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, managing health emergencies, and reinforcing health systems against major challenges.

Haiti’s participation in this session carries special significance given the current national health situation. The country is facing multiple constraints driven by insecurity, the fragility of health infrastructure, and limited access to essential services.
The proceedings of the 158th session of the WHO Executive Board are expected to result in strategic recommendations that will guide the organization’s future decisions. For Haiti, this international platform represents a prime opportunity to place its health priorities on the global agenda and strengthen cooperation with its multilateral partners.
