Nearly a month after his release, Haitian media personality Carel Pedre has finally spoken publicly about his ordeal. In a video posted on his official Facebook page on March 22, 2026, the host and producer reflected on his experience following 69 days in detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the United States.

Pedre, who was arrested on December 21, 2025 and released on February 27, 2026, said the sequence of events surrounding his detention was not a simple accident. According to him, every stage—from his arrest to his eventual release—followed a specific timeline and logic that he later managed to piece together.

The well-known Haitian broadcaster explained that reflecting on the process helped him understand the significance of each moment and the role played by decisions, support, and circumstances that ultimately led to his freedom.

In the video message, Pedre also expressed deep gratitude toward his family, friends, colleagues, and supporters who stood by him during the difficult period. He emphasized that their encouragement helped him maintain his morale and inner strength during weeks of uncertainty.

“We missed each other… but I missed you even more,” he said, highlighting the importance of solidarity during challenging times.

A media professional for more than two decades, Pedre confirmed that he plans to return to his career and resume his activities, including his popular cultural program Chokarella. The show has long been a platform for promoting Haitian culture and entertainment.

For Pedre, this return represents the beginning of a new chapter shaped by resilience, reflection, and renewed responsibility. He says he is ready to continue contributing to his community and inspiring others facing difficult circumstances.
