The Minister of the Environment, Valéry Fils-Aimé, met on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with the UNESCO Resident Representative in Haiti, Eric Voli Bi, to strengthen collaboration around national priorities.
Discussions focused on waste management, ecosystem restoration, and environmental education. Three key initiatives were highlighted: PAIEC for green entrepreneurship, the “Konbit Haiti Zero Waste” program in Cap-Haïtien, and a national awareness campaign.
Both institutions agreed to enhance technical coordination to develop new joint actions, particularly in Port-au-Prince, Cap-Haïtien, and Ouanaminthe.
