On the sidelines of the 10th CELAC Summit held in Bogotá, Raina Forbin, Haiti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and her Colombian counterpart Yolanda Villavicencio Mapy signed a joint declaration establishing a Mixed Commission for Integration and Border Cooperation between Haiti and Colombia.
The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and deepen diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to the Haitian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to achieving concrete results, particularly in the agricultural sector.
During their discussions, the two diplomats also addressed plans to commemorate the 210th anniversary of the arrival of Simón Bolívar in Haiti, an event that highlights the historical ties between Haiti and Latin America.
