Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, Dr. Sandra Paulemon, spoke on Tuesday on behalf of the 14 CARICOM member states at the 2026 ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development.
She highlighted challenges related to debt and climate impacts, calling for increased mobilization of private capital, a fairer multilateral trading system, and a deep reform of the international financial architecture.
Paulemon also urged the integration of the multidimensional vulnerability index in resource allocation, the strengthening of financial safety nets, and greater participation of small island states in global decision-making.
