Haiti’s National Police (PNH) and Armed Forces (FAD’H) are expected to receive new armored vehicles in the near future, according to government sources.
The PNH is awaiting the delivery of 22 Roshel Senator armored vehicles from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Additionally, 22 similar armored units, including 13 currently under repair, have been recovered from the multinational security support mission.
In the smaller “Captain” category, 15 vehicles were left behind, with four currently in the possession of Ecuadorian forces. Three larger Max Pro armored vehicles have been sent to Kenya, while two Century-type units are expected to be delivered soon.
In the Artibonite region, nearly a dozen armored vehicles are already deployed. Authorities also indicated that the police have placed additional orders, while at least 10 armored vehicles are expected to be delivered to the Haitian armed forces.
However, delivery delays have been reported due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. These developments come as Haiti continues efforts to strengthen security capabilities, including recent military graduations and stabilization operations in Port-au-Prince.
