Dr. Guire Ricardo Dossous has been named a laureate by the Research Council of Paris-Panthéon-Assas University for the quality of his doctoral thesis. His work focuses on the environmental degradation of La Visite National Park in Haiti. Dr. Guire Ricardo Dossous, a specialist in management sciences, was rewarded by the Research Council of Paris-Panthéon-Assas University for his outstanding academic contribution.
His thesis, defended in July 2025, is titled: “The destruction of the forest ecosystem of La Visite National Park in Haiti: an extreme situation of public management at the scale of a territory?”. According to available information, this work analyzes the dynamics linked to the environmental degradation of this protected area, considered an important ecological site in the country. The research specifically examines public policies regarding environmental management, as well as the interactions between institutions, local communities, and structural constraints.
It also addresses the issues of territorial governance within a context marked by institutional challenges. The study’s results highlight several elements related to the protection of natural resources and the sustainable management of territories. According to the presented findings, this work proposes avenues for reflection on the approaches to be adopted regarding sustainable development. Dr. Dossous is also a dean at the Notre-Dame University of Jacmel. The award ceremony is scheduled for June 8th in Paris, in the presence of representatives from the academic community.
