Haiti’s Minister of Culture and Communication, Dr. Emmanuel Ménard, conducted an inspection visit to Forts Jacques and Alexandre on Friday, April 24, 2026.
He was accompanied by Minister of Defense Mario Andrésol and Acting Director General of the MCC, Stéphanie St Louis. According to the ministry, discussions are underway to establish a Honor Guard and Heritage Protection Brigade.
This unit would enable the deployment of the Haitian Armed Forces (FADH) to these historic sites, formerly used as military camps, in order to strengthen their protection and preservation.
