The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), responsible for organizing the upcoming elections, now has a new Executive Director.

The electoral body announced the appointment in a press release published on Friday, April 17, 2026. “The Council informs all staff members in general, and technical directors in particular, that Mr. Uder Antoine has been appointed Executive Director of the Provisional Electoral Council. The Council relies on the collaboration of all staff to support the new Executive Director in his mission in order to ensure the proper functioning of the institution,” the statement reads.

Mr. Antoine previously held this position during the transition led by Jocelerme Privert. He took office on May 23, 2016, and organized the presidential and legislative elections of that period before resigning on March 15, 2019. In this second term, he replaces Philippe Augustin. The newspaper learned from several sources that Uder Antoine will officially take office on Monday, April 20, 2026.
