Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé hosted a high-level strategic meeting at the National Palace on Friday, May 29, 2026, with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The visiting U.S. official was accompanied by a senior diplomatic delegation, which included the current U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Haiti, Henry T. Wooster.
The executive discussions between Prime Minister Fils-Aimé and Deputy Secretary Landau focused almost exclusively on the critical security architecture of the country. The two parties reviewed ongoing international cooperation efforts, joint defense objectives, and targeted strategies to counter armed criminal networks to safely stabilize national institutions and restore public order.
