Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by members of his government, laid a wreath at Place Toussaint Louverture, at Champ de Mars, on April 7, 2026. The ceremony marked the 223rd anniversary of the death of the precursor of Haiti’s independence. On this occasion, the head of government recalled that Toussaint’s legacy remains a source of inspiration, calling for national unity and the reconstruction of the country around the values of freedom, justice, and sovereignty.
