Armed men stormed the locality overnight, according to testimonies.
The locality of Seguin, in the commune of Marigot, was targeted by an armed attack during the night of Monday, April 13 to Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
According to information gathered from local sources, heavily armed individuals, reportedly from neighboring areas, entered the locality, spreading panic among residents.
Several people were reportedly killed during the assault. Testimonies describe acts of extreme violence, with some victims allegedly shot and then burned.
The attack also targeted public infrastructure. The Seguin police station was set on fire, along with two vehicles belonging to the Haitian National Police. No official toll was available at the time of writing. Authorities have not yet communicated on the measures to be taken, as the situation remains tense in the area.
