To commemorate World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, the Haitian Ministry of Environment hosted a specialized corporate exhibition centered on the circular economy and sustainable green jobs. The state-sponsored convention, held at a hotel venue in Pétion-Ville, gathered several prominent waste management enterprises, artisan cooperatives, and manufacturing brands to demonstrate sustainable production models.
Prominent ecological organizations and recycling firms, including Fanm Atizan Ayisyen, Dorival Recyclage, and Hill Plast, presented a diverse inventory of commercial goods manufactured entirely from repurposed post-consumer plastic, featuring items such as eco-friendly bags, luggage, waste bins, and industrial brooms. Environmental officials stated that the public outreach campaign aims to integrate formalized green employment frameworks into the local economy, emphasizing that the scaling of waste-to-value infrastructure remains a critical pillar in the interim government’s broader strategy for national environmental protection and urban sanitation.
