Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé conducted an inspection visit this Monday to the future facilities of the country’s specialized judicial branches, which are scheduled to be officially inaugurated this Wednesday. He was accompanied by the Minister of Justice, Patrick Pélissier, and the Dean of the Court of First Instance, Bernard Saint-Vil.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office, these specialized structures will be legally tasked with prosecuting armed gang violence, financial crimes, and electoral fraud. The Prime Minister noted that the unit dedicated to financial crimes will focus specifically on preventing the upcoming electoral process from being used for money laundering and the clearing of illicit funds, thereby guaranteeing free, fair, and transparent national elections.
