Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé presided over an administrative ceremony on Friday, June 5, 2026, to formally unveil a commemorative postage stamp celebrating the national football team’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The event gathered ministerial cabinet members, public institution directors, and veteran sports figures, including Marion Léandre, who famously represented Haiti during its previous World Cup appearance in 1974. The Prime Minister framed the stamp as an enduring national symbol of resilience and unity, stating that the dynamic trajectory of Haitian football mirrors the country’s broader historical journey and proves that long-term perseverance can yield structural achievements.
During the presentation, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, James Monazard, announced that the state will leverage the country’s World Cup participation to establish an international marketing window for the Made in Haiti commercial brand. Monazard committed to utilizing the global sports platform to promote domestic entrepreneurs, cultural artisans, and local manufacturers to an international audience while strengthening economic networks with the diaspora. Carel Alexandre, Director General of the Post Office of Haiti, confirmed that the specialty stamp carries a face value of 1,000 gourdes and was developed via a public-private partnership with Dubicart Gallery, represented by attorney Wolff Dubic. The artistic design features the national squad in action wearing their signature blue and red jerseys alongside the Haitian flag, with distribution and philatelic sales starting immediately nationwide.
