The Haitian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday, June 5, 2026, the immediate dishonorable discharge and dismissal of First Class Soldiers Walner Saint-Dic and Dimitry Nevil from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H). The administrative action follows an internal investigation that found both military personnel guilty of stealing four bags of sugar and engaging in acts of intimidation against a local citizen.
During a formal briefing held at the Vertières military base, Minister of Defense Mario Andrésol praised the High Command for its professionalism and objective handling of the disciplinary process. Andrésol emphasized that this decisive sanction underscores the FAd’H’s firm stance against corruption, structural abuses of power, and any illicit activities within the military ranks, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to upholding accountability and ethical conduct.
